As a homeschooling mom:

These the things that Maxene and I did for the last 2 years that have worked in our homeschooling journey:

1. Planning ahead and structure in learning sessions

-Maxene has always thrive with routine so one of the things that work for us is planning ahead and keeping a structured learning sessions. This in turn encourages independent learning on her part. She knows what is expected from her at the end of the day and if she gets her work done, it allows her room for her other interest like drawing. It also instills in her the value of time management, discipline, hard work and accountability.

2. Using diverse resources

– Using diverse resources that best fit my child’s learning curriculum and her needed skill. Homeschool allows me to tailor fit her lesson not only to her specific learning style but it also allow me to explore various resources that would engage and ultimately lead to mastery of certain lessons. We use Kumon books for Math lessons for example because repetition of certain processes would help her speed and accuracy in solving math problems. We do several Science experiments because terminologies are easily grasp with better understanding through hands-on exposure. And since she is big on reading, we do Filipino books that have English translations that way, I don’t have to translate things to her. This hits multiple birds for us and yielded results for us.

As a Lamblight homeschool young leaders:

As a Lamblight homeschool young leader, I have grown prayerful. I have learn that prayer is a way of talking to God and so I talk to God everyday.

I am thrilled to share the remarkable progress my daughter, Maxene Hayley Uy, has made. Despite the remote nature of online classes, Maxene has significantly enhanced her public speaking skills, which has been a joy to witness.

The homeschool strategy provided by Lamblight International School offers great. flexibility, enabling Maxene to thrive both academically and as a dedicated swimmer. This balance would have been challenging to achieve in a traditional school setting

I am deeply appreciative of the school’s support and highly recommend Lamblight International School for its commitment to fostering individual growth and success.

Why We Homeschool?

We homeschool because we believe that learning should be about discovering new things at your own pace and following your interests. Integrating learning into daily life activities enhances retention better than being spoon-fed facts to memorize. Homeschooling fosters a constant curiosity to learn, with students actively seeking answers on their own.

For example: My son was learning about Newton’s three laws of Motion. It was also a coincidence that we had to go to Manila by plane. We found a way to integrate these laws into the dynamics of flying an aircraft. While on that one-hour trip, my son found answers to questions related to the subject. And the bonus is the good-hearted Pilot allowed him to ask questions after landing and even gave him a quick tour of the cockpit.

Why Lamblight International School?

We chose Lamblight International School because they prioritize not only academics but also the development of talents and Christian values. They treat each student like family, consistently encouraging excellence in areas where the student excels.
